The Persigo Wastewater Treatment, owned by the City of Grand Junction and Mesa County, is starting its Phase 1 expansion, which is set to enhance water cleanliness, safety, and environmental friendliness. This upgrade includes the introduction of new screening processes, advanced electrical and biosolids storage facilities, and improved aeration and disinfection systems.

This expansion project launched with a groundbreaking ceremony on March 6, 2024, attended by the City of Grand Junction and Mesa County officials and residents, marks a significant step in modernizing the facility that has served since 1984.
