Community planning area- Loma
Loma means “Little Hills” in Spanish. Loma has seen three periods of growth: when the Highline Canal was built from 1912-1918, when the federal government resettled 32 families from the Eastern Slope dust bowl, and most recently between 1990 and 2007 as a result of the fringe growth outside of Grand Junction. Today, Loma continues to thrive as an agriculture-based community. Experiencing significant growth in recent years, Loma has become a very desirable place to live.
