No burn advisory issues for the weekend of March 14 at 12 p.m. through March 16 at 7 a.m.

A defendant has pleaded guilty to a Class 3 Felony Theft charge in connection with a public assistance fraud case involving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medical Assistance benefits.

Mesa County Commissioners approved an agreement with Xcel Energy to install new street lighting along the 32 1/2 Road corridor. The lighting will improve nighttime visibility and safety for drivers, pedestrians and nearby residents as part of ongoing roadway improvements.

Mesa County and regional partners will continue water quality monitoring in Leach Creek and Adobe Creek to better understand conditions in local waterways. The data helps inform future state water quality requirements using locally collected science.

The seasonal program is available through April 30.

Mesa County Commissioners approved allocating $100,000 in federal Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) funding to local fire districts that respond to wildfires on federally managed lands. The funding supports fire districts across the county that help protect communities and public lands.
