Mesa County Warmline connects families to help before crisis
Mesa County Department of Human Services (MCDHS) Child Welfare Division has launched a new pilot program through its Child Protection Hotline: the Mesa County Warmline.
The Mesa County Warmline is designed to support families and community members who are seeking help but do not need to make a child protection referral. Instead of ending the call, the Warmline connects callers directly to local resources, services and supports that can address their concerns and help stabilize families.
Trained staff will listen to callers’ needs and provide information about community-based resources tailored to each situation, such as parenting support, basic needs assistance, behavioral health services and other family-strengthening programs. By offering guidance and connection at the right time, the Warmline aims to reduce stress, prevent challenges from escalating and promote overall family well-being.
This pilot program reflects Mesa County’s commitment to proactive, compassionate support for families and to ensuring that help is accessible when it’s needed. The Warmline provides an additional pathway for assistance that emphasizes prevention, partnership and community connection.
