The Coffman Road Phase 1 Project begins to widen road

Beginning March 31, 2025, Mesa County and Mountain Valley Contracting, Inc. will be performing road construction to widen and replace Coffman Road just north of Whitewater. There will be a full road closure on Coffman Road in the project area for the duration of the project. The project is anticipated to reach completion in October 2025. 

Project Schedule and Information 

The project will operate Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with possible Saturday work. The existing road section will be extended to 28 feet wide throughout the project area.

Travel & Other Impacts 

There will be a full road closure on Coffman Road throughout the duration of the project. See the detour below. Please be advised that traffic detours, closings, and openings may change as the project progresses.
