Submit comments and receive updates on the Stormwater Management Manual update
Mesa County and its partners are currently updating the Stormwater Management Manual (SWMM). The project webpage, which allows contractors, developers, and municipalities to receive project updates, review design chapters, and provide valuable input, is live.
The webpage is a centralized SWMM update project page where draft chapters of the manual will be posted as they are developed. It is designed for developers and stakeholders to submit their comments and sign up to receive email updates on upcoming meeting dates and project progress.
This update to the manual is a collaborative effort between Mesa County, the City of Grand Junction, the City of Fruita, the Town of Palisade, Mesa County Valley School District 51, community stakeholders, and Wright Water Engineers, Inc. to ensure we are using the latest best practices to manage stormwater across our communities. The agreement for the contractor to collaborate to develop the revised manual was approved at the Board of Mesa County Commissioners’ Feb. 21 public hearing.
The Stormwater Management Manual is a shared guide to promote public health, safety and general welfare and minimize losses due to flooding through the adoption of policies, procedures, standards, and criteria for storm drainage.
