Permit directions
Mesa County Portal website
- Start the application process by clicking on the “Sign Up” link at the top of the Portal webpage.
- Fill out the required fields in the form.
- Press the “Register” button at the bottom of the form.
- You will be taken to the online permit application form.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your permit application.
For Oversize Overweight Permits, please allow 2 working days after we receive the completed permit form for processing of the permit.
Please note that payment is due prior to issuance of permit. All payments are non-refundable.
Permit options
Required for work which will impact the aerial space of Right-of-Way (overhead power lines, telephone lines, or fiber optic lines).
Required if you will disturb one acre or more (≥1) OR less than one acre that is part of a larger common plan of development or sale.
Required for travel on Mesa County roads if a load exceeds the legal load limit for size and/or weight.
Required for holding special events on Mesa County roads. All items must be received 90 days prior to your event.
Required for work which will impact the surface of Right-of-Way (landscaping, sidewalks, curb and gutter, or improving an existing driveway).
Required for work which will impact a Right-of-Way (installation, replacement or repair of any water, sewer, power, gas, telephone or fiber utility).
