"Last November Governor Polis called a special legislative session on property taxation. Senate Bill 23B-001 passed, giving a $55,000 Actual Value exemption for residential properties and a $30,000 exemption for commercial properties. In these instances we have already subtracted the $55,000 and/or $30,000 exemption from your 2023 tax bill. A new law provides the same relief for tax year 2024."

Assessment Rates & Value Exemptions
2024 Value Exemptions You may notice an Actual Value exemption on your property, Residential $55k & Commercial $30k. The legislature set the residential assessment rate at 6.7%. These exemptions and assessment rate reductions are for one year only— tax year 2024, payable in 2025.
