When do you need this permit?

A Construction Stormwater Permit must be obtained prior to any land disturbance

Construction Stormwater Permit is required if you will disturb one acre or more (≥1), or if you will disturb less than one acre that is part of a larger common plan of development or sale.

A “common plan of development or sale” means

  • A contiguous area where multiple separate and distinct construction activities may be taking place
    • At different times
    • On different schedules
  • Remain related by a common contract or plan
  • Contiguous means construction activities located in close proximity to each other (within 1⁄4 mile)

Requirements

Applicant will be required to submit

  • Permit Application
  • Permittee must be designated on the permit, an individual who will be the responsible party for the project
  • Stormwater Maps
  • A copy of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) - Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS) approved stormwater certification

  • Start the application process by clicking on the “Sign Up” link at the top of the Portal webpage.

  • Fill out the required fields in the form
  • Press the “Register” button at the bottom of the form
  • You will be taken to the online permit application form
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your permit application
