Stage 1 Fire Restrictions enacted

Effective beginning 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, until further notice. These restrictions apply to all private land and BLM managed public lands within the boundaries of the Grand Junction Field Office. For more information visit the Fire Restrictions webpage.

How Property Tax is computed

  • Property Tax is based on the value of any taxable real and personal property that a person owns within Mesa County.
  • Legal restrictions cause the Mill Levy to decrease as Assessed Valuation increases.
  • This restriction limits the growth of local Property Tax.

Property Tax Owed Formula

Value of the Property x Assessment Rate x Mill Levy = Property Tax Owed
