Mesa County Fairgrounds
Join us for our annual Cycle Safety Fest! This year we are combining forces with the Crime Stoppers Car Show for a fun filled events for all ages!
Bring your Motorcycles, Bicycles, and BMX Bikes to the Mesa County Fairgrounds on April 18th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to test out courses, check out vendors, pick up safety gear, attend presentations, and join local cycling communities then wander over to the Crime Stoppers Car Show for live music, food trucks, and so much more!

Have a bike but don’t know what to do if it breaks? Whether you already own a bike and want to learn how to keep it in top condition, or you're in need of a bike to call your own, this clinic is perfect for you.

The first National Bike to School Day took place on May 9, 2012, in coordination with the League of American Bicyclists' National Bike Month. This special day has steadily grown in popularity, and is a perfect opportunity to celebrate biking and rolling in advance of Colorado Bike Month in June.
All across Colorado and the nation, schools, neighborhoods, and families are stepping up to support safe, active transportation. Want to implement a community bike to school program? Get started with Safe Routes to School Bike Train resource from the Safe Routes Partnership as well as the National Center for Safe Routes to School's Bike Bus Guide. Please be aware, these resources are provided by Safe Routes Partnership and National Center for Safe Routes to School and may not be accessible to all. If you need accommodates, please reach out to these organizations. Ride on, Colorado!
Please register your events, regardless of whether or not they will take place on the scheduled day, at Walk, Bike, and Roll to School website, where you can also find a wide range of fun downloadable activities.
This year it was again our pleasure to offer stickers for free distribution on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our tremendous CDOT design team works hard to thoughtfully create artwork to appeal to the full K-12 grade span. Group Rides

Go for a ride in a bike lane to show your appreciation for the existing safety improvements within the community. For extra credit, take a photo of yourself riding in a bike lane, using the Riverfront Trail, or using one of our multimodal paths to raise awareness, promote safety, and thank legislators and jurisdictions for safe infrastructure.
When sharing your photo, you can use a hashtag to share more broadly. #RiverfrontTrail #BikeLanesSaveLives #ColoradosBikeLane
(This runs simultaneous to a nationwide push to save bike lanes.)
Whether you’re already a daily rider or you’re still just biking curious, Bike Month offers a host of reasons and ways to think about biking there. Where’s there? Well, try biking to the store or to meet a friend. Try biking to your next errand or to the ice cream shop. Try biking for fun or fitness, whether it’s around the block or your first fifty miler.
Let’s spend the first Sunday of every Bike Month rediscovering that simple joy of riding a bike!
We firmly believe that life is better for everyone when more people ride bikes. On National Ride A Bike Day, let’s all ride bikes together, wherever we are and at our own pace, to take part in a collective action and kick start making life better for everyone.
There are so many reasons to bike: because riding a bike is fun! Because riding a bike brings us joy, health, and happiness. Because when more people ride bikes, life is better for everyone. And because when all of us who ride bikes ride together on National Ride A Bike Day, we can show our neighbors and our leaders why making it easier, safer, and more accessible to ride a bike is so important to so many people.

One Riverfront will host a bike ride on May 21 along the Redlands Loop. We will start and end at Handlebar, with wheels on the ground at 5:30 PM.

18 Road Trailhead North Fruita Desert, Fruita (map)
Join us as we continue work towards completion of the K2-Play Trail in the North Fruita Desert. This trail is being built in honor of Kristina Kittleson and we can't wait to get it done!
Staging begins promptly at 8:30am, pastries, coffee and lunch will be served and a community ride to take place after. As with all events, weather permitting of course!

Fruita and the Utah borderlands
Welcome to Desert Gravel—the wild ride where gravel meets dinosaur spirit and wide‑open desert fun. We’ve unearthed spectacular terrain right along the Colorado/Utah border, and on April 25, 2026 you’ll be part of the pack. Whether you’re coming to race or just to ride, you’ll feel the flow of every gritty descent, chunky stretch, and soul-checking gravel pitch the course throws at you. As always, our longtime crew (now teamed up with TransRockies) delivers the grit. Kevin Kane, local veteran race director, is onboard to help make sure the experience is dialed.

Highline Lake State Park
One of the most beloved endurance events on the western slope with a fast and fun singletrack lap in Highline Lake State Park, it's a great race to kick off the season.

Electric Hills Trailhead, Colorado 90, Montrose
Mark your calendars for the 2nd annual High Voltage Race at Electric Hills just outside of Montrose, CO!
With distances of approximately 10 and 20 miles, this race is perfect for the whole family. The High Voltage Hustle is hosted by MUT (Montrose Uncompahgre Trails), a chapter of the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association (COPMOBA), a 501c3 nonprofit organization that advocates for mountain biking in western Colorado by building and maintaining sustainable singletrack. The race will start at 9:30 AM. After the race, join us for a party at the trailhead with refreshments and awards.

The Fruita Fat Tire Festival is taking a break for 2026.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us and supported us over the many years.
We have enjoyed it very much, we are going to gather ourselves and try to come up with some new ideas and hopefully come back in 2027.
