Stock up on your Mesa Magic during the Fall Compost Sale
With cooler temperatures ahead, lawn and garden care might not be top of mind. But fall is the perfect time to give your soil a boost before winter sets in, and we are offering residents a 20% discount on Mesa Magic from Oct. 1 - 11 to give you a head start on your garden. Adding compost now can stimulate beneficial microbes and organisms, insulate roots, and prepare your soil for a beautiful spring.
Where to start? After removing spent crops, annuals or planting bulbs, dig compost into the soil to restore nutrients. When cutting back perennials, add a 2- to 3-inch layer of compost around each plant, keeping about an inch of space around the stem. Your lawn will benefit, too. Adding compost provides nutrients to grass roots during the dormant months and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Mesa County’s Mesa Magic compost makes it easy to enrich your soil while making the most of winter precipitation.
Stock up on Mesa Magic compost at the Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility, Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and give your garden and lawn the refresh they need this season.
