Commissioner Bobbie Daniel takes oath of office

County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel was sworn into office by 21st Judicial District Judge Gretchen B. Larson on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Mesa County voters elected Daniel for District 2 County Commissioner.

One of Commissioner Daniel's priorities is to empower citizens to feel more connected to their local government and build on open communication by fostering opportunities for community members to get involved and gain a greater understanding of county departments.

"It is an honor to serve as your County Commissioner," Daniel said. "I will diligently work to listen, invite our neighbors into local government, openly communicate, and build trust. I look forward to working toward a Mesa County future full of opportunity, collaboration, local solutions, and fiscal responsibility."

County Commissioners serve for four years and can serve up to two terms. Their primary functions are to be the county's policy-making body and oversee the county's budgetary processes to provide public services desired by the citizens of Mesa County.

"We all want a better tomorrow, and with deep listening, we can make meaningful changes in Mesa County," added Daniel. "As commissioner, in the thread of collaboration, I will work with our board members and partners to continue local solutions unique to Mesa County to create a policy that advocates for opportunity and stability for our families."
