No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory for Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. due to strong winds. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

The County Commissioners approved two letters to send in support of the Town of De Beque’s initiatives during the administrative public hearing on March 26, 2024.

One is a Letter of Support to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs for the Town of De Beque's EIAF Grant Application for their Comprehensive Plan Update Project. The letter explains the Town of De Beque’s need for an updated Comprehensive Plan due to its outdated version not aligning with the community’s desires for the town’s economic and growth management.

The other is a Letter of Support for the Town of De Beque's application for Congressional Directed Spending to be used to develop a secondary water source, sent to Senator Michael Bennet and Senator John Hickenlooper. In this letter, Mesa County states how the congressional funds would ensure the Town of De Beque has a clean water supply in case the primary water supply system fails due to natural disasters, infrastructure damage, or contamination incidents.
