On Nov. 7, 2023, the Board of Mesa County Commissioners paid tribute to the life and contributions of Bruce Edward Lohmiller, who was born on Feb. 8, 1954, and sadly passed away on Oct. 9, 2023. In his honor, Feb. 8, 2024, has been officially declared "Bruce Lohmiller Day" in Mesa County, a day to reflect on his impactful legacy.

Earlier this year, a bench honoring Bruce Lohmiller was placed in front of City Hall, close to where he attended City Council meetings on a regular basis. Grand Junction City Council designated the bench in honor of Bruce's dedication to the City and his involvement in decisions impacting our community.

Bruce's contributions included his service in the United States Army from 1973 to 1976 and active participation in city and county meetings.

Beyond politics, Bruce Lohmiller's dedication to the arts and veterans left an indelible mark on the community. He provided authentic and compassionate leadership at the Veteran's Art Center.

Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction fondly remember Bruce's warm spirit and contributions to the community.
