County shares stats from successful Warrant Forgiveness Day

At this year’s Warrant Forgiveness Day in late August, 95 total warrants were addressed between the Justice Center and the Municipal Courthouse.

The goal of the event was to help people with active warrants get a new court date and potentially resolve their entire case. People could attend the event at two different locations depending on the type of case they had.

At the Mesa County Justice Center, 51 cases were resolved entirely, either by being sentenced or dismissed. Cases that were not resolved were assigned new court dates. 

At the Municipal Courthouse, 14 warrants were addressed, and other individuals reported to the event to pay off parking tickets. 

Criminal Justice Services, the 21st Judicial District, and the State Probation Department held the event. No arrests were made while community members addressed their court responsibilities.
