Design agreement approved MM-O.16.1 box culvert replacement

The MM-O.16.1 box culvert over the East Branch Reed Wash is approaching the end of its lifespan, and the Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement with an engineering consultant to design a replacement during their public hearing on April 30. 

The engineering firm will structurally design the replacement box culvert and provide plans and subsurface utility investigations for Mesa County Road and Bridge to replace the MM-O.16.1 box culvert with a new 10-foot by 10-foot cast-in-place box culvert with associated headwalls, wing walls, guardrail, and other accessories.

Once the box culvert replacement design is complete, our Road and Bridge crew will handle the rest of the project to ensure Mesa County’s infrastructure is efficient and up to date.
