No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory for Friday, April 10, 2026 from 12 to 8 p.m. due to fire danger concerns. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

The MESA Q-6.8 Bridge Rehabilitation Project, located on Highway 6 and 50 near the Utah border, will move forward with Phase II of the project as it got the stamp of approval from the Board of Mesa County Commissioners during the administrative public hearing on Dec. 12.

Phase I of the project, which assessed the necessary repairs required for the bridge, is now complete. The first phase laid the groundwork for bringing the bridge up to current standards and ensuring efficiency for all who traverse it.

The selected contractor will begin Phase II, which will entail a final design and the development of detailed documents to guide the construction of the bridge enhancements. Environmental and historical factors are considered during this project phase to preserve the essence of our community while moving ahead with essential improvements.

Stay tuned as the MESA Q-6.8 Bridge Rehabilitation Project gets closer to completion.
