Stage 1 Fire Restrictions enacted

Effective beginning 12:01 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, until further notice. These restrictions apply to all private land and BLM managed public lands within the boundaries of the Grand Junction Field Office. For more information visit the Fire Restrictions webpage.

Mesa County Clifton Motor Vehicle is moving from its location in the Peach Tree Shopping Center to the Clifton Community Campus at 3270 D 1/2 Road.

The move keeps motor vehicle services available in Clifton while allowing the County to use a county-owned building rather than continue renting space. Hours of operation and service will remain the same, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Mesa County Facilities remodeled the new motor vehicle section of the Community Campus building.

“We're going to reconfigure a full cubicle space into four different workstations that are customer based,” said Alan Simpkins, Mesa County Facilities Director. The room will be set up with a seating area, workstations, and room for all the staff that previously worked at the shopping center location.

Motor Vehicle service in Clifton will be unavailable during the week of Sept. 7 as equipment is moved from the Peach Tree location to the Community Campus. People can always access Motor Vehicle services online or at the Grand Junction and Fruita offices. The new location will open Sept. 14, 2026.

The relocation is expected to reduce ongoing rental costs and make better use of public facilities already serving the Clifton area.

Residents will continue to be able to access motor vehicle services, including vehicle registration, title services, license plates and related transactions.
