Clifton residents will continue seeing progress along 32 ½ Road as Mesa County advances improvements focused on safety, connectivity and traffic flow through the heart of the community.

Improvements completed in 2025 included a new roundabout at 32 ½ Road and E Road, roadway widening near the Grand Valley Canal and the addition of a shared-use path to enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Current work builds on those improvements and supports the long-term plan to create a safer, more connected corridor serving the Clifton Community Campus, Rocky Mountain Elementary and surrounding neighborhoods.

To complete roadway improvements, Mesa County must secure the necessary right-of-way for construction. Property acquisitions are completed through negotiated agreements. Mesa County works directly with landowners throughout the process, using certified appraisal valuations to determine fair market value. Agreements requiring Board approval are reviewed during public hearings.

Mesa County will continue providing updates as work progresses. The 32 ½ Road corridor improvements represent a steady investment in infrastructure that supports drivers, pedestrians and families across the Clifton community.
