Western Colorado Transportation Safety Symposium on August 28, 2024
Professionals, first responders, advocates, and community members will gather together on August 28, 2024 at Colorado Mesa University for the Western Colorado Transportation Safety Symposium. This full day conference will feature a diverse range of passionate speakers and event attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Hear from statewide and local transportation safety experts, practitioners, and leaders during sessions that will address locally relevant topics and cutting-edge programs
- Network with like-minded individuals and industry experts
- Learn from local organizations
- Contribute to the development of a safer transportation system for everyone
This event will kick off with a keynote presentation by Captain Matt Ozanic from Colorado State Patrol who will showcase the local successes of surge enforcement operations and its positive impact on crime and crash reduction. Attendees can then choose breakout sessions based on topics that interest them such as: the design of safe streets, legislative impacts on traffic safety, DUI Courts, child passenger safety, local planning efforts, and more. The symposium will conclude with an interactive keynote by Dr. Terry Chase who will share her experience with a crash-related spinal cord injury and her personal transformation, leaving attendees with an opportunity for reflection.
