No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory for Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. due to windy conditions. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office received a $165,000 funding award as a partner agency of the Beat Auto Theft Through Law Enforcement (BATTLE) Task Force on July 1, 2024. The Board of County Commissioners then approved a contract at their Aug. 13 public hearing to continue the partnership between Mesa County and Colorado State Patrol effective July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.

BATTLE is a collaborative initiative run by the Colorado State Patrol that is designed to facilitate complex vehicle crime investigations and proactively prevent auto theft.

This contract comes due to the continued success of the BATTLE Task Force and its significant impact on reducing auto theft and other crimes in Mesa County and the western region of Colorado.
