Properly cover your trash load

As we move toward the colder months, if you plan to haul away unwanted items or dispose of trash, please remember to tarp your trash.

Securing your load is not only a matter of following the Colorado Traffic Code, it also helps keep our roads safe, clean, and free from debris that could impact drivers, wildlife, and the environment. 

Uncovered loads to avoid:

• Appliances or large items that aren’t securely tied down and covered
• Loose trash, bags, boxes, or debris spilling out
• Yard waste, rocks, or cement without proper coverage
• Garbage cans that aren’t properly secured or covered

Whether you're cleaning out your garage or hauling off unwanted items, taking a few extra minutes to cover your load helps us all maintain the beauty and cleanliness of Mesa County.
