Inclusive employment starts with the Disability Program Navigator
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and Workforce Development Programs have partnered to provide a new and exciting opportunity for people with disabilities to gain the necessary skills to obtain meaningful employment.
Mesa County Workforce Center (MCWFC), 512 29 ½ Rd., can refer you to a Disability Program Navigator who can help you look for full or part-time employment, connect you to an apprenticeship program where you can earn a paycheck while learning in-demand skills, or a work-based learning experience where you can explore your career opportunities.
Disability Navigators can also help you determine how changes in employment may impact your benefits. Other services Disability Program Navigators provide include help with:
- Writing and retooling resumes matching job descriptions
- Filling out job applications
- Developing interview skills
- Networking skills and employer contacts
- Individual job search activities
- Job-related services to address workplace
- Accommodations
- Finding a job coach or mentor
