Join the 2024 International Residential Code and International Building Code classes

Are you a builder or contractor in Mesa County looking to enhance your knowledge of best building practices and stay up to date on current codes? The Mesa County Building Department and the Home Builders Association of Western Colorado are offering a 2024 International Residential Code Class from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, and a 2024 International Building Code class on Wednesday, April 2, at the Mesa County Fairgrounds Community Building, 2785 U.S. Highway 50.

Today, Feb. 28, on the last day of National Invasive Species Awareness Week, we highlight the yellow starthistle to bring attention to its potential damage to our environment and ask for our community’s assistance in reporting sightings of this noxious weed around Mesa County. The yellow starthistle causes chewing disease that can be fatal to livestock and degrades recreational areas where it is prevalent due to the sharp spines surrounding the flower heads.
