The process of joining the Lighthouse Program begins with an initial interview between the youth and their parent(s)/guardian and a supportive staff member to create a Lighthouse Program Agreement tailored to the youth’s risks and needs.

Hickenlooper, Bennet Announce $152 Million in IRA Funding to Fight Western Drought, Fund Shoshone Project

On Friday, Jan. 17, U.S. Senators John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet shared the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) announcement of up to $152 million in federal funding for 17 projects in Colorado to combat the Colorado River crisis, increase drought resiliency, and restore habitats. The federal funding comes from the Inflation Reduction Act, which included $4 billion to mitigate the impacts of drought, including activities to support environmental benefits and promote ecosystem and habitat restoration. Several projects that will use this funding directly impact Mesa County to address drought and preserve our water.

Mesa County establishes phone line for TABOR refund check assistance

A dedicated phone line has been established to address inquiries and concerns related to the recent $100 TABOR refund checks issued to Mesa County voters. Residents who have not received their check, received one in error, or need a replacement check are encouraged to call 970-256-1584 for assistance by the end of February.

The Rosevale Road flood reduction project public meeting is today

Our Public Works Division and the project contractor will host a public meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mesa County Central Services, 200 S. Spruce St., in the Main Conference Room, to answer questions about the Rosevale Road flood reduction project for residents in the affected area. Please enter the meeting through the east entrance of the building.
