The Colorado Legislature's recent legislative changes, aimed at providing property tax relief, have delayed the certification of Mesa County's tax rolls. This adjustment sets a new deadline of Jan. 24, 2024, for the certification process to give tax authorities adequate time to certify their mill levies and allow County Assessors time to collect the necessary data, ensuring a thorough and accurate tax roll certification.

During the Board of Mesa County Commissioners’ administrative hearing on Dec. 19, 2023, the Board unanimously voted Commissioner Bobbie Daniel as the 2024 Chair of the Board. Daniel succeeds Commissioner Janet Rowland, who served as Chair in 2023.

Most Mesa County offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Residents, you are invited to attend an informal public meeting in person or via Zoom to discuss Ordinance 16, a proposed ordinance restricting travel in designated Mesa County areas by certain vehicles, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Old Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave. in Grand Junction.
