Cycle Safety Fest
Join us for our annual Cycle Safety Fest! This year we are combining forces with the Crime Stoppers of Mesa County Car Show for a fun filled event for all ages!
Bring your Motorcycles, Bicycles, and BMX Bikes to the Mesa County Fairgrounds on April 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to test out courses, check out vendors, pick up safety gear, attend presentations, and join local cycling communities then wander over to the Crime Stoppers Car Show for live music, food trucks, and so much more!

- Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF)
- Interested in riding a motorcycle but not sure where to start? Learn about basic controls and the key personal awareness needed to become a safe rider. After the session, try out a small training motorcycle as part of MSF’s First Ride Experience
- 10:30 AM Basic Motorcycle Rider Course
- Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF)
- Learn about MSF’s Basic Motorcycle Rider Course which teaches core riding skills and allows students to earn their motorcycle endorsement.
- 11:00 AM Q&A with GJPD Motor Officers
- Grand Junction Police Department (GJPD)
- Ask deep diving safety and legal questions like: Do you ever get bugs in your teeth? How often do you shine your boots? Where do you keep your donuts?
- 11:30 AM E-Bikes 101: The Electric Revolution
- Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)
- Ready to swap the car for a motor and pedals? Join us for an interactive session where we cover everything you need to know to ride with confidence and stay legal.
- 12:00 PM Move Safe Mesa County: Working Together for Safer Roads
- Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and the Mesa County Regional Transportation Planning Office (RTPO)
- Every journey should end safely. Learn about crash trends in Mesa County and what the Safety Task Force and you can do to make the roads safer.
- 12:30 PM Safety Learning Lab
- Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), Intermountain Health St. Mary’s Regional Hospital
- Learn about helmet safety with the famous Coconut Crusher! Check out crash tested helmets and watch a live Air Vest demonstration.
- 01:00 PM Intermediate/Advanced Motorcycle Course
- Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF)
- Have you been riding for a while and want to sharpen your skills? Learn about this hands-on course to sharpen your skills and become a stronger, safer driver.
- 01:30 PM Motorcycle Rider Skills Lab
- Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF)
- Learn about a variety of exercises designed to proactively refine skills, on their rider’s own motorcycle. Sessions can be themed by Emergency Maneuvers, Slow Speed Drills, Cornering, etc.
