Owner relinquishments

We understand living situations change and loving pet owners may find themselves in circumstances where they can no longer care for their beloved pets.

Mesa County Animal Services shelter - currently full and not taking owner relinquishments

Once Mesa County Animal Services begins taking owner relinquished animals again, we will update this page.

Due to the high volume of strays in our shelter we currently have a waiting list for owner surrender animals. We are happy to put you on the wait list but in the meantime please create a post on Rehome by Adopt-a-Pet.

Please do not abandon your pet!  Companion animals do not have the skills necessary to survive on their own. When they become scared or fearful, they can injure someone in their efforts to survive.
