Community Corrections program receives high marks on safety and security audit
The Mesa County Community Corrections program was audited this summer by the state of Colorado for its compliance with safety and security standards.
The overall score of the audit was one of the highest achieved by a Community Corrections program in Colorado, reflecting the department’s dedication to operational excellence, public safety, and high standards of professional practice.
The state Department of Public Safety said in a letter to Community Corrections that its handling of prescribed medications, earned time credits and urine analysis were all outstanding areas of performance.
“These results are a testament to the hard work, professionalism, and dedication of our entire team,” said Nicholas Brutosky, Director of Mesa County Community Corrections.
“Our staff work every day to maintain a safe environment, support accountability, and provide quality services. This audit outcome recognizes their commitment to excellence and the important work they do for our community.”
Mesa County Community Corrections recognizes its employees for their role in this achievement and remains committed to continuous improvement, responsible operations, and protecting the safety of the community.
The Community Corrections program is an alternative sentencing option that allows individuals to stay in the local community while serving a felony sentence.
