Seven elected officials were officially sworn into office at the old Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave. They officially began their duties, ready to serve the community and make a positive impact.

County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel was sworn into office by 21st Judicial District Judge Gretchen B. Larson on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

The Board of County Commissioners unanimously voted Commissioner Janet Rowland as the 2023 Chair of the Board.

The District 51 Bus Pass Program hit an exciting milestone: 500 students have enrolled in the program between August and December 2022.

The Mesa County Regional Transportation Planning Office wrapped up the first Walk and Wheel Challenge. Parents of students attending District 51 elementary and middle schools were encouraged to log active trips to and from school through a Mesa County Safe Routes to School app. Participating students could earn prizes for meeting trip goals.
