Our County's storm drain system contains a mix of underground pipes, roadside barrow ditches and natural washes and open drains.

  • If these areas plug with debris, localized flooding can occur.
  • Mesa County relies upon the littering statute 18-4-511 to prohibit litter in waterways.
  • Dumping debris can block the flow of stormwater and cause flooding.
