Victim Advocate Program

If you are ever the victim of a crime or other tragedy

• Ask the responding deputy for a victim advocate. 
• An on-call VAP volunteer will respond quickly to offer much-needed support in the incident's immediate aftermath.

Victims of crime and other trauma 

It is known that early intervention offered by an Advocate can significantly impact victims of crime and other trauma.

While family and friends can be the long-term support system for a victim, they often do not have immediate access to community resources.

An Advocate can provide guidance regarding the following:

• The criminal justice process.
• Housing for the safety of a victim, when necessary.
• Explanations for confusing law enforcement procedures.
• Applications for medical or counseling expenses.

The compassion and services offered by an Advocate can help guide someone from victim to survivor.
