Resident Voices Help Progress Riverfront Trail Connection

We are thankful to our dedicated residents who continue to show up to make their voices heard and help lead important initiatives and improvements in our community. At our recent public meeting on Dec. 3, we welcomed 36 invaluable resident voices at the Clifton Community Campus; County employees, community members, and project specialists collaborated on corridor alignment options to connect the Riverfront Trail from Clifton to Palisade.

Additional Funding Award for Safe Streets for All

The Mesa County Regional Transportation Planning Office, in partnership with local government agencies, first responders, and community stakeholders, is excited to announce $196,000 in additional federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All grant program. This funding, coupled with a $49,000 local match (from Mesa County, the City of Grand Junction, the City of Fruita, and the Town of Palisade), will total $245,000 and be used to begin implementation of the recently adopted Mesa County Safety Action Plan.
