Mesa County is implementing significant changes to its animal services operations to improve animal welfare and enhance public safety. Starting Jan. 1, 2025, Animal Services will operate under a separate enforcement and services model, a shift in how animal-related responsibilities are managed within Mesa County.

38 Road in East Orchard Mesa is about to become safer and more accessible for bikers and pedestrians. At the May 21 administrative public hearing, the Mesa County Commissioners approved a $638,636 agreement for the design of the 38 Road Bike and Pedestrian Project.

Logic and Accuracy Test concludes with 100% accurate vote tabulation
A bipartisan Logic and Accuracy Test (LAT) Board publicly tested Mesa County’s election equipment last Wednesday, May 22, as we approach the 2024 Primary Election. Every test ballot came back with 100% tabulation accuracy.

New GVT Fleet Maintenance Facility nearing groundbreaking
At the May 21 administrative public hearing, the County Commissioners approved a $7.43 million contract amendment between Mesa County and Buildings By Design for the construction of the GVT Fleet Maintenance Facility at 2553 Riverside Parkway. Following the contract amendment approval, a long-term lease between Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction for the GVT Fleet Maintenance Facility was also approved.
