All GVT vehicles are ADA accessible, equipped with wheelchair lifts and securement, as well as audio and visual announcement for major stops.  Riders are encouraged to inform drivers regarding their mobility needs. GVT drivers are trained and happy to assist all riders in getting to their destination safely and comfortably.

Americans with Disabilities Act

Grand Valley Transit (GVT) complies with Title I and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 which states that no entity will discriminate against an individual with a disability in connection with the provision of transportation service. Grand Valley Transit herein establishes its Policy to comply with the requirements of the ADA and its implementing regulations at 49 CFR Parts 27, 37 and 38.

Title VI

Title VI is a section of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requiring that “No person in the United States shall on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Policy

Grand Valley Transit (GVT) has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (FTA/DOT), 49 CFR Part 26. GVT has received Federal financial assistance from the Department of Transportation, and as a condition of receiving this assistance, GVT has signed an assurance that it will comply with 49 CFR Part 26.

Reasonable Modifications

GVT makes reasonable modifications in policies, practices, or procedures when the modifications are necessary to avoid discrimination on the basis of disability or to provide program accessibility to our services.
