Mesa County Commissioners Cody Davis and JJ Fletcher will officially take office on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The swearing-in ceremony will start at 8 a.m. in the old Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave., public hearing room on the second floor.

The Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility, 3071 Highway 50, offers to recycle your Christmas tree for free after Christmas day through January. You can head to the composting facility Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., to recycle your tree. Your tree will get processed into compost, ready to support a whole new purpose.

After a national search and unanimous support from the Board of Mesa County Commissioners, Todd Hollenbeck will officially assume the role of Mesa County Administrator on Jan. 4, 2025.

After 28 years of dedicated service to our community — Mesa County Administrator Pete Baier will retire on Jan. 3, 2025. His dedication and leadership have left a lasting mark on Mesa County, setting us up for continued success as we transition to a new chapter.
