April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

As part of an ongoing commitment to creating a balanced and thoughtful approach to solar energy development through amendments to the Mesa County 2020 Land Development Code, Mesa County Commissioners are inviting residents to continue participating and following the discussion on the future of solar energy. Mesa County Public Health has extended a No Burn Advisory through Saturday, April 6 until 9 p.m. because of strong winds. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period.

The Mesa County Regional Transportation Planning Office invites everyone to participate in the Safety Action Plan via an online public meeting at mesacountysafetyactionplan.com, which will be available until April 28, 2024.

To accommodate the construction work, 16 Road, between M Road and O Road, will be temporarily closed to through traffic. Motorists are advised to use the designated detour via 17 R​oad to circumvent the construction area.

In an ongoing effort to curb the spread of the invasive Japanese Beetle, Mesa County has approved a contract to continue fighting this pest to safeguard local ecosystems and the agricultural economy.
