Safety Planning
Mesa County developed and adopted the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) in 2020, which describes safety processes and procedures, and updates it annually. The most recent update took place in December, 2025.
Safety Updates
- In 2025, a dedicated fleet maintenance facility for Grand Valley Transit (GVT) was opened. This facility aids in efficiently maintaining GVT's vehicles.
- An emergency call box (including video) was installed at the Clifton Transfer Facility.
- A consistent security presence was established at the Downtown Transfer Facility, in addition to periodic patrols during non-service area.
- 20 Solar lighting kits have been installed on GVT shelters throughout the system and more will be installed in 2026.

Absolutely! In both 2024 and 2025 GVT provided around 600,000 rides.
The Grand Junction Metro area (including Palisade and Fruita) has 12 fixed routes and there are about 400 bus stops. For those who cannot use the fixed route system due a disability they may be eligible for paratransit.
